Since its debut in 1942, the J-45 has been beloved as a “workhorse.” Among them,

It features rare Brazilian rosewood, along with a spruce top and mahogany sides and back that have been dried to the absolute limit over more than
half a century.
Furthermore, the fingerboard and upper belly bridge are crafted from Brazilian rosewood—a legendary, rare wood that is now protected from logging.

Starting in 1955, the J-45 transitioned to a large teardrop pickguard, a 20-fret configuration, and non-scalloped bracing.
In other words, this 1954 model represents the de facto final era featuring the “small teardrop pickguard” and “19 frets”—hallmarks of the early J-45.

- Two crack repairs (glued) are present on the back of the body.
- The neck has been reset.
The neck finish was refinished to match this adjustment.

- String action at the 12th fret: 2.5 mm on the 6th string side, 2.0 mm on the 1st string side
- Saddle height: approx. 2.5 mm to 4.0 mm - Plays well with no muffled
