An early ’50s J-200N with a natural finish that exudes elegance
Gibson / 1953 J-200N An exceptionally beautiful vintage J-200N exuding
elegance.
The body has developed a beautifully aged amber hue that enhances its vintage presence and exudes charm.
The natural color of the spruce top allows the distinct variations in grain to shine through, creating a stunning visual effect.
The sides feature a gentle, characteristic maple flame pattern, while the grain on the back displays a rich, expressive character—
making the instrument truly lovely. A pickguard adorned with floral engravings adds a touch of elegance. The bright tone of the pickguard material pairs exquisitely with the body’s amber hue, creating a refreshing look. The finish has evened out to a uniform yellow over time, and it remains in excellent condition with no chipped dots or significant loss of the pattern. The
bridge is made of reddish Brazilian rosewood. Doesn’t it pair perfectly with the Brazilian rosewood
fingerboard?
The tuners are original gold Kluson no-line models.
They complement the stinger on the back of the headstock beautifully—another irresistible detail.
The neck features subtle flame grain and is characterized by a fat, 1950s-style grip.
The sound offers the rich, deep bass characteristic of the early 1950s, along with a well-balanced, full resonance. The well-defined, open tone seems to express the instrument’s visual beauty through sound. Whether you look at its
appearance or its sound, this guitar is top-tier. It truly demonstrates just how special a
natural-finish J-200 can be.
