[Features]
The 940S is a short-type piccolo trumpet that was manufactured for many years as part of the Getzen Eterna series. Although production ceased a few years ago, it is a long-selling model that remained in the lineup for approximately 50 years.
It offers the compact playing feel and nimble response characteristic of short-type instruments. However, unlike the “deep, mellow” tone often found in typical short models, this instrument possesses a bright, brilliant resonance true to the piccolo.
Rather than the expansive projection of a long-bell type, the sound image is compact. Its character is defined by its nimble response and agile handling.
Furthermore, unlike the cornet shank that has become mainstream in recent years, this instrument features a trumpet shank. This provides ease of articulation and a clear attack, allowing you to play with a feel similar to that of a standard trumpet.
It offers high practicality, making it easy to handle not only in Baroque and orchestral settings but also in brass ensembles and solo performances. This instrument truly demonstrates why it has enjoyed such enduring popularity over the years.
