This is the successor to the FM-2, a vintage 2-in-1 fuzz and boost pedal!
Ace Electronics, which owns the ACE TONE brand, was founded in 1960 by Ikutaro Kakehashi, who would later go on to found Roland.EffectorIn addition to guitar amps, the manufacturer was also famous for its electronic organs and rhythm machines. As was typical of Japanese fuzzes at the time, it has a thick, rough sound that shows the influence of Electro-Harmonix's BIG MUFF. The design of the casing is similar to the later Roland BeeBaa, which is quite interesting. The fuzz section has controls for VOL (with ON/OFF SW), TONE, and SUSTAIN, and it has enough sustain while maintaining the compression feel that is characteristic of fuzz. The peaks are not extremely harsh, and the chord resolution is good. The TONE control has a wide range of effects, allowing you to create a wide range of sounds. The booster section has VOL and TONE, and can be adjusted from treble toBassIt emphasizes the tone and gives the sound thickness and body. This is a classic Japanese fuzz pedal from the good old days! I think it's in relatively good condition.
