This is a fuzz pedal from the British company Carlsbro!
This is an OEM product from Sola Sound in the UK, and is identical to the Tone Bender MK3. The Tone Bender MK3 was produced from around 1968 through the 1970s, and many other OEM products exist, including those under the unlabeled "Colorsound" name, as well as for other manufacturers such as Vox and Park. The previous version, the MK2, had a rugged hammered gray body, but this model features a pressed steel case with a pop art illustration. This "Carlsbro" model, with its distinctive turquoise blue body, is a rare and highly sought-after model. In addition to fuzz and volume controls, it also features new treble and bass controls. Compared to the Tone Bender MK2's rough, fuzz-like sound, this model delivers a high-gain, finely saturating distortion. Its rough distortion is reminiscent of the E/H Big Muff π. Turning the TREBLE/BASS knob to the left produces a bright tone with low cut, while turning it to the right produces a fat tone with rich lows, giving you a wide range of sound creation options. The FUZZ knob is turned all the way to the left, and distortion suddenly becomes intense from about the 8th position. You can control the amount of distortion with the guitar volume, but it is not responsive enough to instantly produce a brilliant clean sound.
