2023-made David Brown master-built 1962 Stratocaster with a maple-top finish!!
David Brown, who has worked at Fender Custom Shop since 2006, worked as a guitar tech for YAMAHA from 1986, joined Fender in 2000, later worked at G&L Custom Shop, and after leaving the guitar industry once in 2020, returned in 2022 as a Master Builder.
This David Brown-made 1962 Stratocaster Relic, which he still handles today as an artist model and new model, has arrived!
Not only is it a 1962 Stratocaster, but it is a distinctive, master-builder-style one-of-a-kind instrument with a special gold-parts specification and a maple-neck, maple-top-style finish.
The body is finished in Chocolate 3Tone Sunburst, and the Alder body has been Recruit.
Thanks to the Relic treatment, it has a very tasteful worn-in look.
The pickup is equipped with a hand-wired POBLANO Pickup.
It has the lively attack you’d expect from a maple fingerboard, while maintaining excellent balance across the entire range.
It also has great nuance in picking expression, allowing a wide variety of tones in a single instrument—from the strong, sharp edge and punchy 50s-style feel when digging in hard, to a soft, plucked midrange that evokes the 60s, and even a thick, fat tone.
The frets are Recruit with 6105 narrow-tall frets, and the fingerboard radius is Recruit with a 7.25-9.5 compound radius, making it very easy to play.
Recommended for those looking for a Master Builder instrument you can use on stage!
