At the heart of its sound is a proprietary acoustic engine developed in collaboration with Fishman.
Tim Shaw, currently with Fender and who worked on Gibson pickups in the 1970s and ’80s, was also involved in the development. In addition to a humbucker-style pickup, the guitar features a piezo pickup and a pickup built into the body—a total of three types—allowing you to create a wide variety of sounds.
Here’s how to use the controls!
The selector switch lets you choose simulated sounds or switch between pickups.
The positions are numbered 5 through 1, starting from the front. (Please refer to the table below.)
Additionally, turning the knob located where the standard tone knob would be acts like a blender,
with the sound fully turned counterclockwise set to “A,” and as you turn it clockwise from there, the “B” sound is gradually blended in.

You can choose from a total of 10 different tones,
and while you might initially think there are too many options to keep track of,
there are very few switches and knobs, so once you understand the basic settings, you can intuitively shape your sound from there!!
My impression after actually holding it is that
it has a familiar neck that makes you think, “Ah, it’s a Fender neck,” and it feels very similar to playing an electric guitar.
However, since this model is tuned with acoustic guitar strings, it’s true that it has a unique feel you won’t find on an electric guitar.
With its wide range of sound-shaping capabilities and design focused on ease of use on stage, it’s no wonder professional musicians rely on this model.
