Clear and bold, fast and light—Sadowsky NYC Deluxe Satin 4 Strings!
Roger Sadowsky opened his shop in New York in 1979. He has repaired and customized instruments for numerous musicians, including Marcus Miller and Will Lee, and has now established himself as a high-end guitar maker.
The Deluxe Satin series, which maintained NYC quality while keeping costs down, is now discontinued, making it quite rare in Japan.
This instrument features a flamed maple top, alder back, and rosewood fingerboard. The body features Sadowsky's signature chambered construction, resulting in a lightweight design of approximately 3.5kg.
Controls include Volume, Pickup Balancer, Tone, and a 2-band EQ (Boost) with Treble/Bass. Pulling the tone knob switches the circuit to passive mode.
It delivers a clear, straight tone enhanced by the rich resonance provided by the chambered construction. Yet, the response is extremely fast, and the playing feel, which directly translates the player's touch into sound, fully embodies the essence of Sadowsky NYC.
The EQ excels in its low-end response, designed to deliver a well-defined, punchy low end with controlled boom even when boosted. This highly practical, well-crafted instrument handles everything from subtle nuance to aggressive boosted sounds.
