Martin / 2018 D-35
[Sales Representative Comment: Inoue]

We have received a 2018 D-35, a model from recent years.
2018 was a milestone year in which Martin’s Standard Series was completely revamped, with the bracing structure changed to forward-shifted; this instrument is an example built immediately after that change.
With these 2018 specification changes, the D-28 took a significant step toward a vintage-like aesthetic with open-back tuners and herringbone binding.
For the D-35, Martin adopted multi-stripe purfling and Grover Rotomatic tuners.
This clearly demonstrates a deep respect for the original tradition and identity of the D-35, which was first introduced in 1965.
Additionally, the tortoiseshell-patterned pickguard is a major visual feature, serving as a classic and elegant accent.
In terms of sound, the D-35 fully showcases its unique charm. While retaining its well-balanced tonal center of gravity and a light, crisp tone that projects cleanly and refreshingly without dispersing, the forward-shifted bracing also delivers powerful sound pressure and rich resonance.
The cohesiveness characteristic of a three-piece back is enhanced with added power, allowing you to experience a very pleasant sound whether strumming or fingerpicking.
This instrument represents a high-quality fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern sound.
