This is a rare, very early-production OD-1 featuring a Raytheon 3403 quad op-amp!!
Early OD-1 models featured a quad op-amp (a single op-amp module containing four individual op-amps). While the RC3403ADB—found in the very earliest units—and the NEC μPC4741C—found in units from lot #8400 to #8800—have been confirmed, this unit features the former. The LED indicator is dedicated solely to the battery checker and differs from the specifications of current BOSS Effector. Models equipped with the RC3403ADB are characterized by a somewhat tight low end, extended highs, and a bright, crunchy sound. This is a rare piece that lets you experience the original sound of the legendary OD-1!! This unit’s serial number is #8800, and it is believed to have been manufactured in November 1979. Circuit
