Explanation
A flagship model made in Japan, crafted with the very best of Yamaha's tradition and technical expertise
Yamaha is a manufacturer that Japan proudly presents to the world. Among its products, the BB series remains a classic Bass that continues to captivate many musicians today.
The BBP35 is the flagship model of the BB series. It features a three-ply alder/maple/alder body construction that enriches the midrange while ensuring the vibrations from the maple neck are transmitted to the body without loss. Additionally, the six-point bolt-on construction features the bottom two screws joined to the neck at a 45-degree angle, pursuing a more integrated “tone” between the neck and body. It is equipped with a bridge compatible with both through-body and through-back string routing. For through-back routing, the bridge features a special design that guides the strings at a 45-degree angle, resulting in a smooth string angle at the saddles and allowing the strings’ vibrations to be transmitted to the body without stress. The BBP34 was designed with this relentless pursuit of “tone” in mind.
Although it’s a passive PJ-type pickup, unlike Fender-style PB or PJ pickups with their punchy midrange, this model is characterized by a cohesive, full-bodied sound. Even the 1st and 2nd strings, which tend to sound thin, produce a sound with solid core and substance. With a full-bodied yet sharply defined, clear sound, this is a versatile PJ pickup that accommodates every playing style and tone-shaping need!
