A "Deluxe" jazz bass that combines tradition with modern features!
The American Deluxe series was launched in 1998. While preserving the signature Fender sound, this series incorporates components tailored to the modern music scene and pursues the ultimate in “sound, quality, and specs,” offering a modern design with specifications one step above those of standard models.
This 2005 model is equipped with SCN (Samarium Cobalt Noiseless) pickups, features a bridge that allows for either through-body or surface-mounted wiring, and has a 5-point neck joint with a heel cut.
It features an 18V active circuit with controls for volume, pickup balancer, and treble, Bass, and midrange. Perhaps characteristic of active circuits from this era, turning down the midrange EQ also significantly reduces the volume. The EQ response is very smooth, making these controls convenient for making subtle adjustments on the fly.
With the EQ set to flat, it delivers a clean, traditional Fender sound. While offering Fender’s classic sound, this is a great choice for anyone looking for a powerful, noise-free Jazz Bass!
