Born from an idea by Chris Martin IV, this instrument features a dreadnought body but with a slightly smaller size, inspired by Hawaiian music popular around 1920-1930.
Hawaiian koa with beautiful grain
The sides and back are luxuriously crafted from Hawaiian koa, a tonewood native to the Hawaiian Islands.
It features a bright, crisp sound with low tones that resonate throughout the body.
It features the beautiful grain unique to koa.
The slightly smaller dreadnought top is adorned with beautiful straight-grained spruce.
The rosette features multi-stripe inlay, while the purfling employs herringbone.
This creates an authentic look.
The fingerboard is crafted from ebony and adorned with dot position markers.
The neck is crafted from select hardwood with a slimmer profile for comfortable playability.
The rectangular bridge is made of ebony and features a short saddle.
The headstock features the Martin logo along with the word "O'ahu," signifying "Island of Gathering."
The tuning machines are nickel open-back pegs.
It has the look of an old Martin.
The label inside the body features a design of palm trees reflected in the sunset on O'ahu, along with the model name and Chris Martin IV's signature
