Explanation
Do you find yourself thinking, “I want to cover the full range of contemporary ensembles—from jazz and fusion to pop and rock—with the finest clean tones and exceptional playability,” yet feel that standard modern guitars sound too flat or lack the subtle picking nuances and resonance you’re looking for?
In today’s music scene, the roles expected of guitarists are more diverse and demanding than ever before.
Compatibility with pedal effects, a response faithful to the finest nuances, and an overwhelming sense of fit that eliminates any stress—even during long hours on stage or in the studio. It’s only natural for players to want “a single guitar that delivers the best performance in any situation.” However, it’s not easy to find a high-end instrument that seamlessly blends cutting-edge functionality with the warmth and depth of acoustic resonance at such a high level.
This model represents Ibanez’s thorough pursuit of the ideals held by studio musicians and technically oriented players, elevating them to a new level. The Ibanez AZ-N Series inherits the DNA of the AZ Series while achieving a more natural and rich tone. It is packed with innovative specifications that deliver a superb playing feel and unlimited sound variations.
For the first time in the AZ series, it features a well-balanced, warm rosewood fingerboard. It is equipped with a comfortable compound radius—ideal for everything from gripping the low positions to playing lead notes on the high frets—as well as stainless steel frets that offer excellent wear resistance and enable smooth bending.
It features an S-TECH WOOD maple neck treated with nitrogen heat treatment. Boasting exceptional dimensional stability and durability, it is highly resistant to environmental changes and provides a snug, secure fit. Luminlay phosphorescent side dots, offering outstanding visibility even on dark stages, come standard.
It is equipped with medium-output Fortuna pickups co-developed exclusively for the AZ-N. These pickups work well with effects pedals and powerfully express superb clean tones and subtle nuances. The Alter Switch and dyna-MIX 9 system allow for intuitive access to nine different sounds, including a series connection of the two single-coil pickups and a simulated humbucker.
The body top has been deliberately left without a recessed cavity, allowing the Gotoh brass saddle and block T1702B tremolo to be mounted directly. Combined with the five-spring tremolo system and cowbone nut, this design delivers natural acoustic resonance, overwhelming sustain, and direct picking response.
The 8mm stepped joint with a spherical finish makes playability in the high frets truly spectacular. The ergonomically contoured body and Gotoh H.A.P. Magnum Lock tuners ensure a perfect fit and exceptional tuning stability, even during extended playing sessions.
With an overwhelming richness of expression from clean to crunch tones, nine distinct tone variations, and the ultimate in modern playability—free from any stress—this guitar is recommended for players who say, “I want a main guitar that can handle everything in a single instrument for sessions and recordings,” or “I’m looking for the ultimate, ready-to-play guitar that captures every nuance of my picking with absolute fidelity.”
Ibanez presents the pinnacle of next-generation electric guitars. Experience for yourself the supreme fit that feels like a natural extension of your body the moment you pick it up, along with its wide-ranging tonal potential.
