I love the high-endBass look. But when the sound feels too high-end too, haven't you ever felt it's "less versatile than expected"? Even if it looks flashy, what you really want is a more familiarBass sound. Achieving both is surprisingly difficult.
The clear, open sound of high-end Bass is appealing, but in band or session settings, a sound closer to your "usual tone" often fits better. It's frustrating when an instrument chosen for its looks ends up being limited by its sonic character.
TCGAKKIThe custom-ordered Africa 5 Strings features a flashy bird's-eye maple top paired with a walnut back. It boasts a 5-piece maple/purpleheart neck with a through-neck construction. The fingerboard uses bird's-eye maple, and the pickup covers match the top's bird's-eye burl for a harmonious look. Black hardware and the vibrant purpleheart provide excellent accents throughout, creating a gorgeous yet refined impression.
True to the solid image of a walnut body with a maple fingerboard, the sound is impressively clean and crisp. Combined with Nordstrand's straightforward sound, it delivers exceptionally clear articulation. It offers the confidence to play fast passages without stress, and its balanced character ensures it blends naturally within a band.
Compared to other MGBass models, its substantial, thick neck makes it ideal for players who prefer a fuller grip.
