This model was unveiled at the NAMM Show, one of the world’s largest music instrument trade shows, held in Anaheim, California, in 2012.
It is a special edition of the 000-42, featuring elegant embellishments.

The 000-sized body features Adirondack spruce with a beautiful, uniform grain, and is adorned with abalone shell inlay as well as binding made from Hawaiian koa with a stunning figured grain.
The sides and back feature Madagascar rosewood with a beautiful exotic grain, adorned with Hawaiian koa binding just like the top.
The backstrip features a colorful design unique to the 40 series.
The fingerboard, edged with Hawaiian koa binding, is crafted from jet-black ebony, and snowflake inlays made of abalone shell shine as if illuminating the black fingerboard.
The neck is crafted from select hardwood, and its slim C-shape ensures comfortable playability.
The Downberry bridge is molded from ebony and features a long saddle, with snowflake inlays adorning both sides of the bridge.
The sleek headstock features a veneer of Madagascar rosewood, and the vertical abalone shell logo further enhances its luxurious appearance.
The angular shape gives it a cool, edgy look.
This special model reigns as a completely new 000-42, crafted with the expertise of Martin Custom Shop artisans and featuring a lavish use of premium woods.

- While there are some minor scratches here and there, it remains in very good condition.
- The neck shape has a moderate thickness, providing a comfortable grip.
Additionally, there is no buzzing, and the string action is just right, ensuring smooth playability and excellent overall condition.
- String height at the 12th fret: 2.5mm on the 6th string side, 1.5mm on the 1st string side
- Saddle height: Approx. 2.0mm–3.0mm
