F's uke, currently based in Hokota City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
All ukulele production is handled by Mr. Tatsuro Furubayashi.
Mr. Furubayashi studied classical guitar, acoustic guitar, and ukulele making at the Chai Yukinobu Guitar & Violin Workshop from April 1998. He became independent in 2016, established his workshop in Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture in 2010, and relocated to his current workshop in January 2023.
He crafts original models with exceptional skill.
ー03 Body and Hawaiian Koa Combination
The body shape is F's original 03 type.
Its defining feature is the shape that bulges significantly toward the back.
This concert-body model uses Hawaiian koa with beautiful grain.
Wood binding frames the body, conveying the warmth of the material.
The rosette adorning the soundhole features abalone shell, sparkling beautifully.
Hawaiian koa wood is also used for the sides and back.
The grain pattern indicates the selection of high-quality wood.
The fingerboard is rosewood, finished with a 19-fret specification.
The neck is crafted from mahogany, featuring a flat, thin profile.
The bridge, like the fingerboard, is made of rosewood and features a cow bone saddle.
The Hawaiian koa veneer headstock has a rounded shape and features an abalone shell f-logo.
It features GOTOH UPT-UBB-CWX tuning machines, renowned for stable tuning and reliability.
While they appear to be friction pegs, they are actually geared pegs with a 1:4 gear ratio.
Its meticulous Japanese craftsmanship, original design, and playability make it an approachable instrument for anyone.
