The D-28, synonymous with folk guitars, enjoyed immense popularity during the folk era and remains one of the most sought-after guitars in the vintage market.
The powerful sound emanating from its dreadnought body continues to shine across various musical scenes today.
A custom model utilizing wood typically reserved for the 40 series.
The top is crafted from select Sitka spruce.
The sides and back feature quarter-sawn Indian rosewood.
This quarter-sawn grain, a hallmark of Martin, enhances the guitar's aesthetic appeal.
The back strip features a zigzag pattern.
The fingerboard is crafted from jet-black ebony and features shell dot position markers.
The neck is crafted from select hardwood with a slightly thinner C-shape for a comfortable grip.
It also features the distinctive D-28 volute.
The bridge, like the fingerboard, is made of ebony and features a short saddle.
The Indian rosewood veneer headstock features a sharp headstock shape. While the standard model uses a three-dimensional gold logo, the CTM model features a vintage logo as a distinctive characteristic.
GROVER 102C tuning machines are employed.
They enable smooth tuning.
This is a D-28 unique to the Martin Custom Shop, but apart from the top wood, it remains an authentic D-28!
