Martin / 2002 Model 000-28EC
"The legendary instrument that powers Eric Clapton"
Eric Clapton, hailed as one of the world's three greatest guitarists, who created masterpieces like "Tears in Heaven" and "Change The World."
The Martin 000-28EC, released in 1996, is arguably his indispensable partner and trademark instrument for the songs he plays and his tours.
It has influenced countless fans worldwide, and the 000-28EC itself is a coveted guitar. Many have surely thought, "If only I could play those legendary songs on a Clapton model..."
—A signature model packed with Eric Clapton's meticulous attention to detail
The 000-sized body features spruce and is characterized by its amber-colored finish, giving it a vintage guitar look.
Beyond the finish, it features white binding to accentuate the body's contours and herringbone trim.
The use of herringbone in the rosette suggests an homage to the 000-28 models from the 1930s and 1940s.

The tortoiseshell-patterned pickguard further enhances the authentic look.

The sides and back are crafted from quarter-sawn Indian rosewood.
A zigzag pattern is used for the back strip.

The fingerboard is made of ebony, with diamond and square inlays shining brightly against the black surface.
This inlay pattern is also characteristic of models from the 1930s and 1940s.
Eric Clapton's signature is inlaid on the 20th fret.

The bridge, like the fingerboard, is made of ebony, but it features a short saddle.
This suggests considerable influence from his first guitar, a 1966 000-28 (Mike Longworth's custom model), and the 1974 000-28 he acquired around 1976, both of which also feature short saddles.

The mahogany neck, arguably the instrument's most defining feature, features a slightly thicker V-shape.
This neck shape is likely an essential part of his playing style.
A strap pin has been added to the neck heel.

The rosewood veneer headstock features the classic Martin logo decal, and its angular shape evokes the 1930s-40s.

Open-back tuning machines with the Martin logo are fitted, and the butter bean buttons lend an authentic look.

The endpin hole has been enlarged.
While the standard diameter is approximately 7.5mm, this guitar's is about 13mm, suggesting it was likely used with a pickup installed.
Therefore, it is also recommended for those who wish to install a new pickup and play this instrument.

What do you think?
The Martin 000-28EC boasts unquestionable playability and quality, making it perfect not only for fans but also as a main guitar.
We encourage you to take this opportunity to try this instrument.
