The abalone shell decorations scattered throughout the piece are so breathtakingly beautiful that they leave you speechless. The body wood alone is rare, but the inlay work, which is like adding gold leaf, makes it a work of art that surpasses even the highest standards.
The Adirondack spruce exhibits a bearclaw grain pattern, suggesting that the Style-50, being a special model, uses rare materials. The herringbone trim and rosette feature intricate abalone shell inlay work.
The pickguard also features a vine inlay and has a protective sheet to prevent scratches. The inlay, crafted from intricately arranged abalone, is simply breathtaking.
The sides and back are made of Brazilian rosewood, which has a strong grain pattern.RecruitIt features purfling, a backstrip, and vine inlays that complement the rosewood. It gives the impression of a Brazilian rosewood canvas framed in abalone shell.
The fretboard is adorned with a beautiful Tree of Life design that almost completely conceals the ebony underneath. Furthermore, abalone inlays have been added to the sides of the fretboard, making one wonder how much time it must have taken to create just that fretboard.
The ebony bridge features flower and vine inlays on both sides and the bottom. The bridge pins, positioned to rest on the vines, are made of fossil ivory. A star sapphire gemstone adorns the bridge pin.
The neck is made of mahogany, and the fingerboard is bound and decorated with abalone shell inlays that follow the shape of the neck.
The heel cap is made of Brazilian rosewood and features an inlay of a single flower and vines.
The headstock, veneered with Brazilian rosewood, is adorned with abalone around the edge, and the design, featuring a flower, marks the end point of the Tree of Life extending from the fretboard. The Martin logo also features luxurious abalone shell.
The tuning machines are gold Waverly open-back tuners, and are engraved with a lily-like design so as not to detract from the inlay design.
The body end is adorned with a luxurious vine inlay, and the strap pins, like the bridge pins, are accented with star sapphire gemstones.
The decorations are meticulously applied down to the smallest detail, resulting in a beautiful and radiant finish. Adorned with inlays featuring vibrant vines and blooming flowers that continue to shine beyond time, this piece radiates charm along with its overflowing melodies.
