The D-28 makes it easy to play with a wide dynamic range, from loud to delicate tones
Martin / 2000 D-28
The D-28 underwent specification changes from the 1990s through the 2000s
As you examine the characteristics of each era, you’ll find yourself growing increasingly fond of the D-28, Martin’s iconic model.
The model we’ve just received is a 2000 vintage.
The Sitka spruce top has developed a subdued patina, exuding the unique charm of a used instrument.
The Indian rosewood on the back of the body features a straight-grained pattern with distinct light and dark tones, giving it a rich, distinctive look.
The headstock is equipped with Gotoh-made Schaller-style tuners featuring the Martin logo.
A gold decal logo shines on the headstock, a design feature that sets this model apart.
The rosewood used for the veneer also features black streaks, giving it a rather cool look.
In terms of sound, its defining characteristic is its incredible volume, which responds powerfully even to strumming strokes.
At the same time, it produces a well-defined tone even with subtle nuances, allowing you to express a sense of fragility.
It’s easy to add dynamics throughout your performance, making it perfect for singing while playing.
As one of Martin’s flagship models, the D-28 is definitely a top recommendation.
