Explanation
Gibson / 1996 EVERLY Reissue
[Demo Video]
The Everly Brothers, creators of classics like "All I Have to Do Is Dream" and "Keep A-Knockin'". Symbolizing them is the Everly Brothers Model from Gibson. Based on the J-180, its design features a large pickguard positioned like a badge, with star-shaped inlays as a signature detail. This model recreates the Everly Brothers signature model introduced in 1968.
- The pickguard adorning the 16-inch body
The 16-inch body, identical to the J-180, is constructed from spruce and finished in black. While the 1968 model featured a tortoiseshell pickguard, this version pairs a black and white 4P pickguard facing each other to match the body color.
Maple is used for the sides and back. Playing it reveals a sound that is not overly hard, with quick response and a warm character.
The fingerboard is rosewood, featuring the signature star inlay.
The neck is made of 3-piece maple. The neck shape is a soft V, offering a comfortable grip that fits naturally in the hand. This shape was probably essential for them, playing rock 'n' roll and country.
The rosewood bridge features a large trapezoidal design reminiscent of a shogi piece, utilizing a top-through bridge design without bridge pins. An adjustable saddle is employed. This specification mirrors the original model, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail in reproduction.
The headstock features Gibson's modern logo along with star inlays. The bell-shaped truss rod cover uses a 2P design.
It is equipped with GROVER 102 tuning machines. Ensuring stable tuning.
