Explanation
Martin / 1995 000-42EC First Year
[Demo Video Available]
This instrument, Eric Clapton's first signature model released in 1995 as a limited edition of 461 worldwide, is a rare piece from the inaugural year.
Its gorgeous decoration incorporating Style-42 is beautiful.
The V-shaped neck is a hallmark of Clapton models. It is always featured on his signature models and is a crucial element supporting performance.
The label inside the soundhole bears his handwritten signature.
Two cracks above the soundhole have been repaired, with patches (reinforcement plates) applied from the back, ensuring it's safe to play.
Cracks have been repaired along the abalone inlay on the sides (left and right) of the fingerboard end. While damage is visible on the lacquer finish over the abalone, the area underneath is reinforced with bracing and spruce reinforcement plates (common to all 000-42 models), ensuring structural integrity.
Traces of a neck reset are visible at the neck heel. This is an effective method for repairing areas where the truss rod is less responsive, significantly improving playability and tone.

As Clapton's commemorative first-year signature model, the Style-42's snowflake inlays, vertical logo, and decorative elements on the top create a luxurious impression. It delivers a rich, resonant sound.
