Explanation
A sound only a vintage Fodera can produce. A 1985 Monarch Elite!
Fodera was founded in 1983 in Brooklyn, New York, by Vinny Fodera and Joey Lauricella. Vinny Fodera is also known as Stewart Spector's first protégé, and worked with Ken Smith from the late 1970s to the early 1980s.BassI was making it. It has been used by many legendary bassists, including Victor Wooten, Anthony Jackson, and Felix Pastorius. FoderaBassEssentially, everything is customizable, and we continue to provide users with the highest quality solutions to meet their needs.
This 1985 model has a strong handmade feel and a distinctive appearance that sets it apart from current models. The body top is made of spalted beech, and the back is made of ash and birdseye maple. The neck is made of 5-piece maple and the fingerboard is made of pau ferro.
The original pickup was a Bartolini 9S, but this unit has been modified with a soapbar-type pickup, which requires an enlargement of the routing. The preamp has also been replaced with Fodera's latest model, the Fodera x Trickfish Preamp v.4. The controls consist of Volume/Tone/Balve/3-Band EQ/(Active/Passive) SW/Coil Tap SW.
In terms of sound, it has a fast attack and is easy to express picking nuances, while also having a woody and organic feel. Unlike the "delicate sound" of modern high-end instruments, it has a firm, full sound that I think blends very well into ensembles.
If your only requirement is a "sound that blends well with the ensemble," there are many other options available. However, this particular unit possesses the precision and presence characteristic of high-end products, such as excellent separation resulting from its fast response. While the pickups and preamp aren't original, I felt that the unique character that only a vintage Fodera can possess is definitely alive and well.
These are rare vintage high-end items that are now difficult to obtain.BassHowever, what's important is its potential as a tool. "A type of music that makes you want to keep playing it"BassThat's the answer.
