Explanation
Martin / 1979 D-45
[Demo Video]
While pickguards are typically replaced to prevent Martin cracks, this instrument’s pickguard features a faint spruce grain pattern, suggesting it is the original. The area around the pickguard and rosette is also in excellent condition.
The bridge plate shows minimal damage and poses no issues regarding structural integrity or tone projection, ensuring you’ll be able to enjoy the D-45’s crystal-clear tone for many years to come.
There are signs that the neck heel has been reset, which is an important process for ensuring comfortable playability. As a result, despite having a square rod, this instrument allows for stress-free fingering and strumming.
[Staff Comment: Hoshino]
It is said that 291 Martin D-45s were produced in 1979. The intricate inlay work and the selection of woods—particularly the spruce—truly showcase the D-45’s signature quality. The resonance spreads throughout the entire body, allowing you to feel the D-45’s immense potential.
