MASTER (Kawase) / 65M 12-string Guitar
A rare 12-fret joint 12-string guitar from MASTER, known only to connoisseurs
Founded in 1944, Kawase was the first to sell Martin guitars in Japan. We’ve just received a MASTER from Kawase Gakki, a brand that supported the Japanese acoustic guitar scene in the 1970s.
With its slotted headstock, 12th-fret joint, and 12-string configuration, this model is extremely rare in terms of specifications and boasts a look you don’t often see elsewhere.
The sound is well-balanced across the entire frequency range, with particularly excellent low-end output that delivers a solid, substantial impression.
We have refretted it and replaced the saddle and nut since it arrived at our store, so it is fully adjusted and in excellent condition.
While it shows some wear appropriate for its age, the original polished finish has not warped and remains in excellent condition.
The 'MASTER' is quite rare on the market, and this specific configuration makes it even more so.
