Explanation
The Telecaster Bass, known for its rich, deep bass!
The Precision Bass, Fender’s first solid-body electric guitar, was released in 1951.Released in 1968 with specifications nearly identical to the original 1951 Precision Bass, the Telecaster Bass was Fender’s first reissue model. Later, in 1972, the specifications were updated to include a three-point neck plate, a truss rod adjustable from the headstock, and a humbucking pickup mounted closer to the neck position.
This particular instrument is a 1973 model equipped with that humbucking pickup.
The crack on the top of the body is only in the finish and does not reach the wood. There was a crack in the wood on the back of the body, but it has been thoroughly repaired at our partner workshop. Additionally, there is a chip in the wood between the neck pocket and the pickup routing, but neither issue affects the instrument’s structural integrity.
The humbucker positioned near the neck end produces a fat, boomy sound. Its appeal lies in its well-balanced tone, which combines the richness reminiscent of Gibson’s EB series with the quick attack characteristic of ash and maple. This is a guitar that allows you to fully enjoy the unique character of the humbucker era, distinct from the early single-coil specifications of the Telecaster Bass.
