YAMAHA / 1971 FG-2000
Have you ever felt "history" in a sound?
There are various factors involved, like the deep resonance felt the moment you play it, or its dry tone.
This YAMAHA FG-2000 is one that lets you feel the passion of that era...

YAMAHA, an indispensable presence in the history of Japanese folk music, welcomed Terry Nakamoto and entered a new era in 1971.
That same year, as the FG's popularity became unshakable, they announced the "Premium Handmade FG" lineup.
Three models—the FG-1500, FG-2000, and FG-2500 (12-string)—were released, ultimately making YAMAHA Acoustic known worldwide.
This particular instrument is a precious example from the very first year of production, 1971.
Crafted by Japan's finest artisans, it carries the momentum of the red label era.
The bridge retains the red label era's design, featuring the early Yamaha headstock with its V-shaped tip.
Just seeing this shape seems to convey the spirit of that era directly into your hands.

And when you lightly pluck the strings, an exhilaration washes over you that makes you gasp—those familiar with the FG-180's wildness might be stunned.
Certainly, playing it forcefully yields a raw sound, but even when played gently, it maintains an open, brilliant quality while the sound projects forward—that's the sensation.
The low end is rich and soft, yet it has a solid core.
It makes you wonder if rosewood was chosen specifically to bring out the most delicious aspects of the sound.

Luster, aroma, resonance.
The charm of this model is captured within each and every note.
Even after half a century, its appearance remains beautiful and its playing condition excellent.
The passion and pride of those craftsmen still live on in the FG-2000.
