Explanation
The Last Stratocaster with the Spirit of the '60s
The 1970s Stratocaster era saw the most drastic specification changes. By late 1971, changes included a bullet nut and a three-point neck mount; in 1972, a double string guide was introduced; and by 1974, flat pole pieces were adopted. These successive changes significantly altered both the sound and playability.
Amidst this, the 1970 model stands as the last Stratocaster to retain the defining characteristics of the 60s. It represents a special year where tradition and transformation intersected, highly prized even among vintage enthusiasts.
This instrument is finished in the classic 3-tone sunburst. The body top shows natural paint wear from picking and the characteristic red fading of this era, exuding authentic vintage character. Additionally, the pickup selector has been upgraded to a 5-way configuration. This enables half-tone sounds unattainable with the original 4-way switch.
Its sound is truly unique, combining the dry, crisp tone characteristic of the 70s with a punchy midrange attack. Clean tones are sparkling, while driving it yields a thick, edgy sound. This Strat embodies the spirit of the 60s while reflecting the changing times.
This alder/rosewood configuration from this vintage is already scarce in circulation, and specimens with both excellent condition and sound are rare on the market. A 1970 Stratocaster that survived an era of change. Let this one guitar breathe the spirit of the 60s into your playing.
