Martin / 1970 000-28E
As models equipped with magnetic pickups, three types appeared between 1959 and 1964: the D-28E (2 pickups), D-18E (2 pickups), and 00-18E (1 pickup).
Among these, this particular instrument is a special one-off ordered by Bass as a 000-28, a model not part of the standard lineup.
ーDeArmond Single-Coil Pickups
DeArmond single-coil pickups are installed at the fingerboard end and above the bridge.

A 3-way Switch Craft pickup selector is mounted on the upper right of the body, switching between the front and rear pickups.
White knobs are used, similar to the D-28E.

Four control knobs are mounted on the lower right side of the body.
The top two controls are for the front pickup's volume and tone, while the bottom two are for the rear pickup's volume and tone.

ーBody Top
The top is made of spruce and features a multi-color cell inlay.

- Sides/Back
Quarter-sawn Indian rosewood is used.

- Fingerboard
Made of ebony with dot position markers.

ーNeck
The mahogany neck offers a comfortable grip with a well-balanced thickness.

ーBridge
The ebony bridge is fitted with a short saddle and white bridge pins.

- Tuning Machines
Features PAT-stamped GROVER 102 tuning machines.
They operate smoothly, allowing for comfortable tuning.

[Staff Comment: Hoshino]

The pickup installed on the 000-28 gives it a substantial feel.
The rear pickup delivers a sparkling tone, while the front pickup offers the warm character unique to acoustic guitars.
Its 000 size makes it exceptionally easy to cradle.
