Martin / 1970 000-28E
Between 1959 and 1964, three models equipped with magnetic pickups were introduced: the D-28E (2 pickups), the D-18E (2 pickups), and the 00-18E (1 pickup).
Among these, this particular instrument is a special custom-ordered model based on the 000-28, which was not part of the standard lineup.
—DeArmond Single-Coil Pickups DeArmond single-coil pickups are mounted at the end of the
fingerboard and on top of the bridge.
A 3-way Switchcraft pickup selector is mounted on the upper right of the body, allowing you to switch between the front and rear pickups.
White knobs, identical to those on the D-28E, are used.
Four control knobs are mounted on the lower right side of the body.
The top two control the front pickup’s volume and tone, while the bottom two control the rear pickup’s volume and tone.

top of the body is made of spruce and features a multicolor cell pattern.
— Sides/Back:
Straight-grained Indian rosewood is used.
— The fingerboard is made of ebony
and features dot position markers.
—The mahogany
neck has a grip of moderate thickness, providing a comfortable feel.
—The ebony
bridge is fitted with a short saddle and white bridge pins.
—Equipped with GROVER
102 tuning machines stamped with the PAT mark.
They function well and allow for smooth tuning.

The pickups installed on the 000-28 give this guitar a rich, full-bodied sound.
The bridge pickup produces a sparkling tone, while the neck pickup delivers the warm, distinctive sound characteristic of an acoustic guitar.
Being a 000 size, it’s exceptionally easy to hold.

the information provided is based on our inspection only. - While there are pick scratches, dents from
playing, and paint wear due to lacquer softening, this is a highly rare collector’s item.
- The lower right side of the body back has peeling that has been re-glued.
- Celluloid adhesive repairs have been made to the indentations on both sides of the body back.
- A crack repair has been made to the lower left side of the body; as a result, it has been painted dark brown to conceal the crack marks.
- The neck has been re-lacquered.
- A strap pin has been added to the neck heel.
- There are signs that the neck has been reset.

- No muffled tones or buzzing. - String action
at the 12th fret: 3.5 mm on the 6th string side, 2.5 mm on the 1st string side. -
Saddle height: approx. 1.0 mm to 2.0 mm. -
Electronics are in good working order.
