Gibson / 1969 B-25
The B-25 was introduced in 1962.
As the successor to the LG-2, the B-25 shares the same body size, X-bracing, and wood materials as the LG-2.
Since the LG-2 began incorporating an adjustable saddle around 1960, the B-25 also carries on that legacy.
The defining feature of this instrument is its bridge.
While B-25 models produced up to 1968 featured an upper bridge (adjustable saddle), this 1969 model was modified to feature a down-berry bridge (adjustable saddle).
Another interesting difference in internal structure is the bridge plate: while the 1968 model is secured by a total of four screws—two on each side—for both the bridge and the adjustable saddle, this 1969 model is secured by only two screws on the left and right sides of the adjustable saddle.
You might even notice a difference in the resonance of the sound as a result.

- The condition is typical for its age, with
scratches, scuffs, dents, and weather checking. - The tuning
pegs have been replaced (original parts are included).
- The neck has been relacquered.
- While a thin, single-piece (approx. 0.5mm) truss rod cover is standard, this instrument has a thicker 1mm cover installed.
Therefore, we believe it may have been replaced.
- The endpin hole has been enlarged, suggesting that a pickup may have been installed at some point.
- There are signs that the top of the bridge has been shaved down.
[Playing Condition]
- String action at the 12th fret: 2.5 mm on the 6th string side, 2.1 mm on the 1st string side. -
The neck is straight, but due to the bulge in the top,
the adjustable saddle cannot be lowered any further in its current state. - There is no buzzing or muffled
sound, and the instrument plays well.
