A first-year production Telecaster Bass – 1968 model in "Paisley Red"!
Introduced in 1968 as Fender's first reissue model, the Telecaster Bass is a reproduction of the original 1951 Precision Bass. While faithfully retaining vintage specifications such as a one-piece maple neck, a string-through-body 2-way saddle (nickel, from 1954 onwards), and single-coil pickups, it also features the distinctive paddle tuners and gray bobbins of the era.RecruitEvery detail has been meticulously considered.
This particular instrument is a rare 1968 "Paisley Red" Telecaster Bass.
This legendary color scheme was produced in limited quantities for only two years, from 1968 to 1969, against the backdrop of America's "flower movement" and "psychedelic culture."
The top and back of the body are covered with paisley-patterned wallpaper, and a clear coat is applied over it to improve its durability for storage.
While Telecaster Basses typically use ash wood, just like Original Precision Basses, this particular instrument has a somewhat unusual alder body.RecruitIt is characterized by a warmer, more sustained tone.
It comes with pickup covers, bridge covers, finger rest, and even the original hard case. All the pickups and potentiometers are also original, making this a truly coveted item for collectors.
The nut and frets have been replaced. Furthermore, the fretboard and neck grip have been refinished. While there are signs of use such as paint chipping, all of these imperfections contribute to its overall condition.BassIt tells the story of its "living history." Despite being a single-coil pickup, you can enjoy a surprisingly bold and solid mid-low range.
The Telecaster Bass stands out from the mainstream Jazz Bass and Precision Bass, showcasing its own unique character. In particular, the rich 1960s Fender sound produced by the alder body is so impressive that you'll immediately feel it's a viable option when you try it out.
The "Paisley Red" Telecaster Bass exudes a truly unique presence.
Its stunning looks and sound, and the extremely limited number of copies distributed worldwide.
If you miss this moment, there's no guarantee you'll ever encounter it again.
