Gibson / 1968 Everly Brothers
[Demo Video]
The Everly Brothers signature model was introduced in 1962. The J-180 has a 16-inch body.BassThis particular model is a one-of-a-kind instrument packed with features that symbolize them.
- Mustache double pickguard
The large, tortoiseshell-patterned mustache pickguards positioned on either side of the body are a signature feature of the Everly model, and are always present even on reissue models.RecruitIt is an iconic design. It matches the black body color perfectly.
The 16-inch body top is made of spruce and has a black finish. The scratches, dents, and weather checking, which show the passage of time and the many times it has been played, stand out coolly against the black color.
The sides and back are made of maple and are finished in black, matching the color of the top.
The rosewood fingerboard features star inlays at the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 12th, 15th, and 17th frets. The inlay, crafted from mother-of-pearl, displays various expressions depending on the viewing angle.
The neck is a 40mm narrow neck, and it is made of mahogany.RecruitIt is being done. The slim neck shape provides a comfortable grip even for modern playing styles.
The Everly model also features a pinless rosewood bridge. Combined with the adjustable saddle, it produces a crisp, resonant tone.
The headstock features Gibson's modern logo, along with a sparkling star inlay. The truss rod cover is a two-piece design and is stamped with "EVERLY".
The tuning machine is a KLUSON VX-501 (commonly known as the "waffleback"). The black headstock with its tarnished nickel finish is incredibly stylish.
[Comment from the person in charge: Hoshino]
Many people probably picture the Everly Brothers model with its black body and large tortoiseshell mustache pickguard. While natural colors are also popular, this particular specification is especially sought after and is a fan item. It offers a great playing feel and can still be used for many years to come.
