Premium 1968 Dove Natural custom-built with double pickguard
Gibson / 1968 Dove Double Pickguard
What do you seek when you pick up a guitar? Merely beautiful resonance is not enough. A presence that seizes the listener's heart with undeniable sonic power and commands the air. A single instrument capable of telling the player's own story through both "sound" and "appearance." How many such guitars truly exist?
Those who have found this page (myself included, of course) are players who have been intoxicated by sound and captivated by instruments. The longer you play guitar, the less you can be satisfied with it being merely a tool to produce sound. You come to realize that a true partner is that special existence – one that makes your heart burn deep within every time you play, one whose resonance carries history and soul.
It is precisely to you, who share this passion, that I wish to introduce this instrument.
This time, we present the 1968 Gibson Dove Double Pickguard. A premium presence that stands out among countless vintage instruments.
Thick tortoiseshell pickguards are symmetrically placed on both sides. The iconic dove is inlaid with shining pearl, and the flower pattern is colored with vivid red and green.
It has a splendor that captivates at first glance, but it also has a dignified presence that goes beyond mere flashiness.
Remember 1965, the Newport Folk Festival. Bob Dylan, embodying rock 'n' roll, holding his double pickguard J-200. Or the Everly Brothers, with their glossy looks, coloring the era.
This Dove also belongs in that lineage.
Its sound is pure rock 'n' roll. It features the narrow, thin neck shape characteristic of the late 60s. It truly shines in chunky, choppy rhythms, delivering a presence you simply can't get from other guitars. Furthermore, it sports the 60s-specific Tune-O-Matic bridge.
Its precise pitch and sustain underscore its capabilities, which transcend its distinctive appearance.
The natural finish's aging checks add character as proof of its journey through over half a century, giving it a truly unique aura. If you live and breathe rock 'n' roll and yearn to pour your very soul into your music, you must try this guitar. It embodies the spirit of its era and amplifies the player's soul, making it resonate even more powerfully.
