Gibson / 1966 Dove Cutaway Custom
The Dove is a square-shouldered model released in 1962 as a higher-end version of the Hummingbird. This particular instrument is extremely rare, featuring a Florentine cutaway similar to the CF-100E. It is likely a prototype or a one-off custom-made piece. Based on the serial number and other specifications, it is estimated to have been manufactured around 1966. The plain tortoiseshell pickguard is also a distinctive feature.
This guitar features a spruce top, maple back and sides, a one-piece mahogany neck, a 25 1/2-inch scale length, non-scalloped X-bracing, and Kluson VX-501 "waffle-back" nickel tuners. The subdued sunburst color adds to its sophisticated appeal. The crown inlay and double parallelogram position inlays on the headstock create a gorgeous look. The TOM saddle is a characteristic feature of 1960s Doves guitars, and the dove-shaped inlays on both sides are beautiful.
The sound is bright and lively, yet it has a solid core and good separation.

[condition] There is a 10cm crack repair mark on the lower top, a crack repair mark on the upper right of the soundhole, a crack repair mark on the bracing edge on the back of the pickguard, and overspray all over the neck grip, but it has been properly adjusted and is playable without any problems. -String height at the 12th fret: 2.5mm on the 6th string side, 2.0mm on the 1st string side - Precise string height adjustment is possible with TOM.
