Very clean and in good condition vintage SG, 1965 Gibson SG STANDARD with small guard.
In 1961, Gibson changed the specification from the single cutaway Les Paul model to a one-piece body with double cutaways and thin mahogany. The name itself was changed to SG (abbreviation of Solid Guitar). The single-cutaway Les Paul was later revived, but the SG remained a long-selling guitar that is still on the market today. It is one of the masterpieces produced by Gibson, which has captivated many musicians, including Pete Townsend, Angus Young, Tony Iommi, George Harrison, and Eric Clapton.
This 1965 SG Standard has a small pickguard and small head, which were the specifications until around 1967, a one-piece mahogany neck, which was the specification until around 1969, and a solid neck joint that integrates the back side of the body with the neck from around 1963 to 1967, This model is equipped with numbered PAF pickups and the original Maestro vibrato unit.
The vintage humbucking sound is more beautiful and has a richer overtone structure than normal humbucking. The thin and slender neck is easy to play, and the body has been played in the field to give the guitar a mellow vintage SG sound. It is very beautiful to look at and is a very exciting SG to display.
There is a crack on the neck joint. This item is a consignment item and is not covered by our warranty.
