Highest-end semi-acoustic guitar model equipped with original PAF
Introduced at the end of 1958 and officially launched in 1959, the ES-355TD was the top-of-the-line model of Electro Spanish, featuring binding and diamond inlays on the head and neck, gold parts, ebony fingerboard, block position marks, and more. It is also known as a favorite of famous musicians such as BB King, Chuck Berry, Keith Richards, Noel Gallagher, and Shinichi Ikuta, etc. Although it was discontinued around 1982, reissued models have been released many times.
This 1962 3S-335TDSV is equipped with stereo output and a baritone switch. It was the last guitar equipped with the original PAF. The swing away pull, sideways, and vibrato unit were only installed for about 3 years from about 1959 (the patent was approved on August 4, 1959, so it was actually about 1960), and from a specification standpoint, this unit itself is very rare. The center block under the rear pickup was shaved off at the time of Ko, the long tenon with mahogany neck deeply set into the body, large block inlays, patented Grover tuners, orange label, and the enjoyment of talking about the age of the instrument can be enjoyed by those who know the instrument.
The sound spun by the original PAF and the body, which has gained more sound and resonance with age, is a vintage sound that is both powerful and sexy. It is a matter of course that the attack of picking is answered with a wonderful response, but the high frequency range that does not feel any pain even with a strong attack is one of the best. The overall sound can be felt even when played live, and its expansive overtone structure and rich resonance are also appealing. What you cannot experience with other guitars is the sound obtained by matching the original PAF sound with the Varitone switch. As I tried various positions over and over again, I couldn't stop thinking to myself, "This position goes well with this song," or "This position is fun if I play this way. Even when distorted, the core sound is never lost, and it is a sound that can be enjoyed forever without losing track of time. The frets and nut have been replaced and set up in our store, and with its outstanding performance, it is more than capable of showing its strengths in professional recording and live performances, where high precision is required.
Guitar enthusiasts have probably not had an easy road to the present, having purchased many guitars in their music life. What kind of guitar would you choose as the last stop in your music life? Vintage guitars of this age are expensive. However, if you think of it as the culmination of your life, this guitar is a testament to your life, and it has value.
