This particular instrument has no cracks, the original painted pickguard is still in excellent condition, and there are no signs of repairs around it.
Now, 70 years after its manufacture, the probability of finding a J-45 with its original pickguard still intact and free of cracks among the 1432 units produced at the time is miraculous. Since there aren't many of these guitars in circulation to begin with, being able to find one in this condition is nothing short of a rare opportunity.
It has undoubtedly been played in a variety of styles over the years. And yet, it still retains its wonderful tone and condition.
