Martin / 1937 000-18 Shaded
"I've always dreamed of Pre-War..."
The brown color 000-18 appears when you open the case.

While Martin guitars are primarily available in natural colors, this model's color scheme was one of the optional colors available.RecruitThis is the shaded color.
Martin's color scheme is distinctive, with shadows applied along the edges of the body and brown paint sprayed on to create a gradient effect.
In addition to the rarity of the Shaded finish alone, the fact that this particular instrument is a pre-war model makes it a truly special item for any Martin enthusiast.
Shading colors drawn on spruce
The top wood is made of flowing, translucent spruce, and it is finished in a shaded color.
Compared to natural colors, it gives off a sophisticated and rare impression.
The bracing pattern is scalloped X-bracing.

The guitar has a large tortoiseshell-patterned pickguard.
Please note that the pickguard has been replaced from the original.

The sides and back are made of mahogany, and the evenly distributed grain indicates high-quality wood.
A step is visible at the seam of the center line on the back, but this is due to the shrinkage of the clear coat, and there is no need to worry about the wood cracking as bracing is attached inside the center line.

The fretboard is made of ebony, and the mother-of-pearl dot position markers sparkle brilliantly.

The mahogany neck has a thin, soft V-shape.
Combined with the 44mm nut width, it makes for a very comfortable neck to grip.
From the 1930s to around 1967, T-shaped steel T-bar rods were used.RecruitNow then.

The bridge is an ebony down-belly bridge with a long saddle.
The bridge has been replaced and is slightly slimmer than the original.
The fact that the repair work was done so neatly after the replacement suggests that it was carried out by a highly skilled craftsman.

The headstock, made of jacaranda veneer, is adorned with a classic logo in gold lettering with a black border.
Its angular shape is also a symbol of the pre-war era.
The presence of ring-shaped marks around the bushings suggests that it was originally equipped with Rotomatic tuners from the same manufacturer, but it has since been reverted to its original tuners.

The tuning machine is equipped with a GROVER open-back tuner.

Pre-war Martins are a coveted item that many aspire to own, and the Shaded color adds an extra touch of exclusivity.
In addition, although the pickguard and bridge have been replaced, the guitar is crack-free.
You will undoubtedly enjoy the sense of ownership and the crisp, beautiful sound.
