The Radio Grande is a model with a square-shouldered body and a 12-fret joint.
This instrument was manufactured over a period of approximately five years, from 1934 to 1939, and is a testament to Roy's dedication to playing Hawaiian, jazz, and blues music.

The J-45-like round-shouldered body is made of spruce, and this nearly 90-year-old instrument has a dignified look with scratches, dents, and weather checking that suggest it has been used in countless performances.

The sides and back are made of beautiful straight-grained rosewood.

The fretboard is made of rosewood and the nut width is 47mm.

The neck is made of mahogany and has a substantial thickness.
However, with a 47mm width, it doesn't feel difficult to play, and you can enjoy a comfortable playing experience.
There is no adjustable truss rod built in.

The bridge is a rosewood regular bridge with a short saddle.

The headstock features a Gibson script logo in white ink, along with the words "Roy Smeck" and "Radio Grande."
Weather checking and some paint peeling give it a weathered look.

The tuning machines are Grover open-back tuners.
Due to age-related changes, there is some resistance when tuning, but this does not affect playability.

- There is no buzzing or jamming in the sound, and the playing condition is good.
-String height at the 12th fret: 2.6mm on the 6th string side, 1.8mm on the 1st string side
- Saddle protrusion amount: Approximately 1.5mm to 2.5mm
-The tuning peg for the second string has been replaced.
- There are repaired cracks in one place on the right side of the body back, one place on the lower right of the body back, and one place in the narrow part of the right side of the body.
- There is over-lacquering on the body sides/back.
