The body top is spruce.
It has a honey-brown patina and checking, giving it a vintage Martin-like presence.

The body back is a three-piece construction of laminated Brazilian rosewood and maple. A truly luxurious combination by today's standards.
The body sides also feature laminated Brazilian rosewood, matching the back.
The fingerboard and bridge are ebony.
The YD-304 is known for being used by Yosui Inoue during his debut live performances.

The neck features a steel truss rod, similar to 70s Martin guitars, rather than an adjustable rod design.
It has a slightly thicker, rounded shape reminiscent of Martin guitars from the same era.
