Explanation
ASTURIUS / 2014 Red Hawk
This model was supervised by Mr. Taka Takeda, who has been involved in the planning, design, and sales of ASTURIAS for over half a century since joining the company in 1973. It is also a special model, produced in a limited run of only 40 pieces to commemorate ASTURIAS's 40th anniversary.
The Alaska spruce top delivers not just brightness, but a core-like tension, firmly supporting the deep bass and beautiful harmonic layers produced by the rosewood sides and back.
The rosewood fingerboard and ebony bridge exquisitely balance attack and sustain. Including the stability of Gotoh tuners, this instrument embodies the integrity of a tool built to be played for a lifetime.
And the standout feature is the "Big Wave Processing" applied to the underside of the top. By using bamboo shims tailored to each individual grain line on the underside of the top and carving wave-shaped grooves along the grain, the effective vibrating area inside the body is dramatically expanded. Though difficult to discern visually, running your finger along the back of the top through the soundhole reveals the intricate carving. The result isn't merely increased volume, but a sound that envelops the entire space. Even with a light strum, the sound projects forward, smoothly reaching the far corners of the room – a sensation unique to this construction.
Even when plucked softly, the sound retains its contour as it flies forward. When strummed, it delivers the characteristic dreadnought dynamics, firmly supporting your expression. You should feel your musical range naturally expanding through this instrument.
The gleaming Mexican mother-of-pearl eagle inlay on the headstock is also a symbol of this guitar. It embodies the answer for someone who has walked alongside guitars for many years, shaping "the one they truly want to play right now." That's precisely why it's crafted into a reliable model you can keep playing for years to come.
