Explanation
"I want the spacious sound of an acoustic guitar, but I also want to enjoy creating a wide variety of tones." For guitarists like this, standard semi-hollow or solid-body guitars can sometimes feel limiting.
You want to express a wide range of sounds with just one guitar—to get an acoustic-like tone from a piezo pickup while also utilizing a magnetic sound with real punch. Don’t you want a guitar that meets these ambitious needs?
The 2005 Paul Reed Smith McCarty Hollowbody I is the embodiment of that ideal. Its fully hollow-body construction delivers a natural, rich resonance reminiscent of an acoustic guitar. Furthermore, in addition to a magnetic pickup, it features a piezo pickup, allowing for an astonishingly wide range of sound shaping with a single instrument.
The body top features beautifully grained figured maple, giving it a visually luxurious finish. The sweet, rich midrange produced by the mahogany back and neck is ideal for both lead and rhythm playing. It also has a pleasant natural resonance, making it versatile enough for everything from casual home practice to full-scale live performances.
This guitar combines a rich sound, excellent playability, and beautiful aesthetics.
