The charm lies in its warm, woody tone! Bossa's 6-string fretless modification!
Bossa, a high-end Japanese brand. Although the workshop was located in the Kansai region, production has unfortunately ceased. It has become difficult to find even on the second-hand market.
The wood materials include an ash body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. This is a modified version of the original fretted model, converted to a fretless design. Controls include volume, a pickup balancer, a 3-band EQ, and a half-tone switch. When the half-tone switch is in the down position, it produces a thick, stable sound—essentially a humbucker-like tone. When the half-tone switch is set to the top position, the sound changes to a distinctive single-coil tone. In this state, setting the balancer to the front position combines the "inner coils," while setting it to the rear position combines the "outer coils."
This guitar is characterized by its woody, warm tone. Although it is active, the natural resonance of the wood is robust, and the electronics are balanced to complement that. The body shape allows for easy access to the higher frets, making it ideal for melodic playing in the upper register!
