The LOTUS LEAD/SOLO is a new-generation model born from an approach distinct from the flagship series. By using standard valves instead of MAW valves and collaborating with partner workshops in Asia for manufacturing and assembly, LOTUS has significantly reduced the price while maintaining LOTUS standards for design and quality control. Compared to the flagship model, which costs over 1 million yen, this model is priced to be accessible to a wider range of players.
The 140-millimeter, single-piece yellow brass bell features a design that starts with a moderate taper near the stem—similar to the CLASSIC and UNIVERSAL models—and then opens widely toward the flare. This makes it easier to hit the sweet spot even in the high register, while producing a sound that is richer and wider than that of a typical standard bell.The machined nickel-silver receiver and the 0.9-millimeter-thick machined yellow brass leadpipe also support clear articulation and stable projection.
The “Brushed with Clear Lacquer” finish retains the signature brushed appearance of previous LOTUS models while using clear lacquer to make the sound’s contours even more solid. The response is crisp, delivering a bright, open sound while still offering the richness and breadth unique to a 140-mm bell. It is well-suited for a wide range of applications, from reed, big band, and horn sections to solo work where a distinctive tone is essential.
Two types of tuning slides—yellow brass and phosphor bronze—are included, allowing you to adjust the sound from a bright, well-defined tone to a warmer, richer resonance. Stability, ease of play, and a powerful, resonant trumpet sound. The LEAD/SOLO lets you experience the appeal of LOTUS in a simpler, more practical way.
