George Lowden, who began building guitars in his youth and remains active today as a handcrafted guitar maker, founded Lowden to pursue and realize his vision.
The elegant designs, reminiscent of traditional European craftsmanship, and the captivating sound—which is infinitely clear, well-balanced, and brimming with originality—are now highly acclaimed worldwide.
Although the Lowden company itself ceased to exist when George Lowden chose to pursue a path as a completely independent luthier, he continues to craft even higher-quality guitars today under his own name, "Lowden."

Today, we’re introducing the “WL-22 MA/RC” from the WL series, known for being used by Ed Sheeran.
A common feature of Lowden guitars is that, despite their compact body size, they deliver sound pressure and tone quality on par with—or even surpassing—that of a Dreadnought.
The WL features the smallest body size in Lowden’s lineup—what is commonly referred to as a mini-guitar.
However, the volume and clear, crisp sound it produces are truly surprising, far exceeding what one would expect from such a small body.
Based on preconceptions about cedar wood, one might expect a warm tone that tends to be subdued, but this guitar shatters those preconceptions.
Elements that contribute to this sound are likely incorporated into every part of the guitar, from the very fine bracing to the 5-piece neck construction.

- An acoustic guitar specialist has thoroughly inspected the neck and body, and no repairs are needed.
- The neck is straight, and there are absolutely no issues with buzzing or muffled sound.
- String height at the 12th fret: 2.1mm on the 6th string side, 1.6mm on the 1st string side
- Saddle height: approx. 3.5mm–3.0mm
