"A 4-string guitar featuring an LG-0 body"
The 1965 TG-0 is a 4-string tenor model built using the body of the contemporary LG-0.
Like the LG-0, it features horizontally arranged ladder bracing.
A unique feature is the headstock, which was designed specifically for the Tenor.
The headstock, which bears the Gibson silkscreen logo, measures approximately 16 cm on the Tenor model, about 1 cm shorter than the L-0’s headstock, which is roughly 17 cm.
The neck also features a slim grip with a nut width of approximately 30 mm and a moderate thickness, strongly evoking the feel of a tenor guitar.
While it is often played in A-D-G-C tuning (the same as a tenor banjo or viola), it can also be played in Chicago tuning (D-G-B-E, which omits the 6th and 5th strings of a 6-string guitar).
This makes it easy for guitarists to play without feeling out of place.
The three-screw black small pickguard also matches the mahogany body perfectly.
