Gibson / 1960 J-45
"A rare instrument where you can enjoy the beauty of aging"
The J-45 is now so popular among Gibson acoustics that it needs no introduction.
This 1960 model is a rare specimen that underwent various specification changes.

—A beautiful black-and-yellow gradient
The spruce body is finished in a color scheme reminiscent of a three-tone finish.
Over time, the reddish tones have faded, beautifully revealing a gradient from black to yellow.
The black has faded slightly, revealing a beautiful, translucent brown-like color.
The sides and back feature mahogany with a dense grain.
It is finished in a natural color that does not detract from the wood’s inherent beauty.
This wood produces the tightness and boldness characteristic of the J-45.

The fingerboard is made of rosewood with a beautiful grain pattern.

The neck is made of mahogany, and its clean, well-proportioned shape provides a comfortable grip.

The upper belly bridge features the ceramic adjustable bridge that has been standard since 1960.
The adjustable bridge is known for its distinctive brilliance and airy sound.

Starting in 1955, the pickguard specification changed from a small pickguard to a large one.
Therefore, this model is also equipped with a large pickguard.
It features a beautiful, glossy finish.

The headstock features a silk-screened Gibson logo, accentuating the classic J-45 look.
A key feature of this era is the 17-degree headstock angle, isn’t it?

It is equipped with a set of three Kluson tuners with white buttons.
Although the tuners have been replaced, the previous owner’s attention to detail is evident in the fact that they chose the same type to maintain the instrument’s original character.

This guitar has a history of few major crack repairs and, despite being nearly 70 years old, remains in excellent condition.
Its sound—bold yet with a straight-ahead projection—is a hallmark of this model, and you’re sure to enjoy strumming it.
