Established in 1987 as Fender’s premier division, the Custom Shop uses premium woods and spares no expense in time or cost to create a sound that’s a cut above the rest, captivating countless musicians. The NOS series stands for “New Old Stock.” These models are crafted to recreate the exact condition of brand-new instruments sold at the time, as if they had been transported directly to the present day.
This 2021 model is a recreation of the 1957 Precision Bass. It features a combination of an alder body, a one-piece maple neck, and an anodized pickguard. The soft V-shaped neck offers a solid grip, allowing you to feel the low-end power characteristic of a thicker neck.
This guitar is notable for its mature vintage sound, featuring the quick response typical of a one-piece maple neck, along with a powerful low-to-low-midrange tone and a crisp, defined attack. It’s great for classic tones with the tone knob rolled back, or for a gritty, distorted sound. This is a versatile guitar with a fat, appealing tone!
