Gibson / 1967 Hummingbird Natural
The Hummingbird is one of the quintessential Gibson square-shoulder models.
True to its name, the hummingbird carving on the pickguard is captivating.
- Pickguards with mixed coloring variations
Starting in 1967, the coloring of the design carved into the pickguard changed.
The butterfly, petals, hummingbird's beak, wings, and tail feathers were colored yellow, while the rest of the design was colored white. However, this particular guitar is characterized by its pre-change, uniform yellow coloring.
Even within the same year of 1967, these two patterns coexisted.

The rosewood bridge on the upper belly has been modified to change from an adjustable saddle to a slotted saddle.
You can see the rosewood filling in the area where the adjustable saddle was previously located.

The square-shouldered body top uses spruce and is finished in a natural color.
There are crack repairs in three locations: just above the soundhole, at the center below the saddle, and at the lower left of the body top. However, these have been thoroughly reinforced, so you can use it with confidence.

Mahogany is used for the sides and back.
The aged cherry coloring and weather checking lend a dignified presence.

The fingerboard is rosewood, and the slim, narrow neck is a defining feature.
Double parallelogram inlays are used.

The neck is mahogany with a comfortably thin profile.

The large headstock features Gibson's modern logo and a crown inlay.
The crown inlay is positioned lower toward the nut.
The bell-shaped truss rod cover is a 3P design.

It's equipped with KULUSON DELUXE tuning machines.
The gold hardware accentuates its luxurious feel.

The natural-colored Hymmingbird has enjoyed popularity alongside the cherry finish since its debut in 1963.
It features tasteful weather checking, making it a piece that truly embodies the charm of a vintage guitar.
